Line the bottom of a greased pie dish with a layer of buttered thinly sliced leftover bread.
Spread a layer of leftover stewed apples over the bread.
Sprinkle sultanas, brown sugar and cinnamon over the apples.
Repeat this process until the dish is full (finishing with a layer of bread)
Place a few small pieces of butter on top and bake in a moderate oven for about an hour.
