Apple & bread pudding

Ingredients: serves 2 - 4


Method:

  1. Line the bottom of a greased pie dish with a layer of buttered thinly sliced leftover bread.
  2. Spread a layer of leftover stewed apples over the bread.
  3. Sprinkle sultanas, brown sugar and cinnamon over the apples.
  4. Repeat this process until the dish is full (finishing with a layer of bread)
  5. Place a few small pieces of butter on top and bake in a moderate oven for about an hour.

Recipe tips:

If you struggle to get through a whole loaf of bread, why not opt for a half loaf next time you shop, most major retailers offer smaller loaves.
